Martello Productions was founded forty years ago in Dun Laoghaire. The group has about thirty members and produces two plays a year, one for the One-Act Festival circuit, and one full-length play which they perform each spring in Rathmichael National School in Shankill, south Co. Dublin. Martello has also performed in the Wakefield Drama Festival in Yorkshire on six occasions and in the Manx Amateur Drama Festival of Plays since 1985. The group won the Manx Festival three times, most recently in 2013 with Marina Carr’s By the Bog of Cats

Kilrush Drama Group celebrated their 50th anniversary earlier this year having been founded by current Director Mick Byrne in 1964. As part of their celebrations the group launched a book of photos, facts and stories from down through the years entitled Drama at Kilrush. Over the fifty years, the group has produced seventy- one plays and has appeared in the All-Ireland 3-Act Finals on sixteen occasions.

Theatre 3 was formed in 1984 when three companies in the Newtownabbey area decided to join forces. In the last thirty years, Theatre 3 have produced a multiple of plays. They are regularly to be seen on the festival circuits and have had numerous appearances in Ulster, Irish and British finals.

Coolgreany Amateur Dramatic Society is five years old, and has produced ten plays in those years. This is the group’s third time to enter the One Act Festival Circuit.  In 2013 they got third place in the Confined Competition with The Donahue Sisters by Geraldine Aron. This year they are proud to have hosted their own One-Act Drama Festival

Blue Hat Productions is based in Whitechurch, Co Cork. The club was set up on 2001 and first became involved in the One-Act Festival circuit in 2005. The club usually has a one-act production for winter, and a full-length play for the spring. This year, for the first time, they have entered plays in both the Open and Confined sections of the circuit. They have a strong and dedicated team of actors, directors and technical crew and they look forward to performing on the 2014 festival circuit
