WELCOME TO THE SKERRIES THEATRE GROUP WEBSite
*** final auditions tonight thursday 3rd july at 8pm ***
Exciting news, we are holding auditions for our October performance of Wyrd Sisters
by Stephen Briggs and Terry Pratchett.
Auditions continue on Thursday 3 July at 8pm in Room 7
at the Little Theatre.
Synopsis below, if you are interested or want to find out more,
contact derek.c.power@gmail.com.
About the Show
A hilarious and darkly clever parody of Shakespearean drama, Wyrd Sisters follows three witches—Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, and Magrat Garlick—as they battle an evil duke and restore rightful rule to the kingdom. With a lively script, shifting timelines, ghosts, and a play-within-a-play, this is a dynamic, fast-moving production.
CASTING INFORMATION
We are seeking 8–12 versatile performers with mixed gender roles and backgrounds. Some roles will be doubled. Please indicate if you are open to multiple roles.
PRINCIPAL ROLES (Will not be doubled):
Granny Weatherwax – Female, 40 - 50. The formidable and practical head witch. Cursed with ‘youthful looks’ as a witch so always trying to appear older than she seems.
Nanny Ogg – Female, 50+. Warm, earthy, bawdy. Think “drunken aunt at a wedding.”
Magrat Garlick – Female, 20s–30s. Earnest, naive young witch in training.
Duke Felmet – Male, 40+. Unraveling villain; a nod to Macbeth.
Duchess Felmet – Female, 40+. Ruthless and manipulative; shades of Lady Macbeth.
Fool / Verence – Male, 20s–30s. Jester with a conscience; secretly the true heir.
ENSEMBLE ROLES (Will be doubled):
Vitoller / Chamberlain / Actor
Mrs. Vitoller / Peasant / Servant
Sergeant / Soldier / Guard
Bowman / Guard / Peasant
Demon / Ghost of King Verence / Ensemble
Note: Doubling will be creative and flexible. We’re seeking strong comedic timing, physicality, and adaptability.
